Last time I blogged I showed you some of the things on my workbench that didn't make the cut for the Bead and Button show. It was fun to share the process and really fun to hear your comments about it. The applications are in and the pieces have been mailed to the show to be juried in...here are some of my submissions for 2013.
This is probably my favorite one this year, love the turquoise stone! I'm having lots of fun with neck rings. My pieces are too heavy for chain and I also find chain to busy for my designs so I'm making my own neck rings and now starting to branch out a bit. I have some more ideas on this topic that you might be seeing soon. This class is about tabbing and adding height.
This is a new class for me, we are going to work with a piece of rusty found metal and create a pendant from it by adding a stone.
This next sample is a class that will teach curving and riveting on a curve and adding height and movement. We won't have time to enamel so I think I will bring those pieces with as I like the added color.
I have a few that need to be tweaked before the catalog goes out especially this one as I had some issues with the hinge and I want a better photo...this hinged lid lifts up to reveal the entire stone tabbed on the back piece. it's kind of like a locket but I wanted to peek in the window.
I'm also teaching an all day resin class where we get to play with all the different techniques that work with resin and jewelry.
If you were coming to a show this year what would you most like to learn how to do? What would be the most helpful techniques to increase your skills and help you make your work better? Leave a comment with your ideas and I'll draw a few names for something from The Overflowing Stash!
