To build a dimensional piece using resin you will need a mold. You can purchase a mold and be limited by the shape, or you can build your own. The two part molding putty that we carry on Objects and Elements is the best I've found. It has very tight pores when cured so there is less texture on the surface of your molded resin piece.
Simply grab one part of each color in matching sizes and knead together with your fingers tips until it's all one color. Put the ball of putty on a flat surface and press your image in deep so there is a ridge around the outside to keep the resin in.

Allow to set up for about twenty minutes before removing the molded piece.

Before you pour resin into your new mold, allow it to cure for several days. If you don't let it cure, the resin will be filled with many many bubbles from the continued curing of the putty. In the photo below you can see the piece on the left has more bubbles in the resin where the piece on the right is clear. Even after allowing the mold to cure, the first piece you make will be slightly more bubbly than the subsequent ones.
