New processes of working with steel helped fuel the industrial revolution. It's very very strong and if you use it in your jewelry designs you can get it to match old found objects and most importantly you can create designs that just don't work in a softer metal.
When I first starting working with steel I thought it would be really hard, but it comes fully annealed and is as soft as half hard sterling! I love the brushed look I can get when it's finished and the architectural structures I can build! Try it you will be surprised.
This great chatelaine was made by Brenda Schweder, she graciously agreed to write a blog just for us about the properties of steel and how to work with it...just click over to Brenda's blog and check it out!
Here's some eye candy to look at and if you leave a comment I will randomly draw two winners who will get a roll of steel wire from Objects and Elements to work with!
