I just got back from the Bead and Button show and loved the feathers that Laura McCabe--an amazing beader--had crimped in her hair. We carry several kinds of feathers on Objects and Elements.com and they can be used your hair or in your jewelry. Here is a very fast, inexpensive and easy project.
I took two peacock feathers and trimmed them down a bit. I used the extra long feathers as fringe on another project that is shown below.
I put the spine of the feather in a crimp end, or you could make one with a wire wrap.
with a pair of flat nose pliers I crimped the feather into the end.
If you make your own be sure to tap it out to "work harden" it so it retains it's shape.
Attach the feathers to the ear wires and you have a perfect pair of earrings! The crimp ends that I used were a little bright so I used gilder's paste to make it blend with the feathers...
